The Turin Motor Show pays tribute to one of the most illustrious and emblematic figures in the history of the Italian automotive industry: Sergio Pininfarina, on the centenary of his birth.

An entrepreneur, designer and man of extraordinary sensitivity, Sergio Pininfarina was a figure who left a profound mark not only on the automotive industry, but also on the culture of design and style. Those who had the opportunity to know him outside the professional sphere remembered his kindness, elegance and particular attention to human relationships.

His legacy is celebrated at the Motor Show through two exhibitions dedicated to his extraordinary heritage: “The Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina” and “Sergio Pininfarina. Beyond Time”.

A tribute that tells the story of a heritage destined to transcend eras: what Sergio Pininfarina created as a designer and entrepreneur still stands today as an indelible testament to the Italian ability to unite industry, technology, elegance and art.

Heir to the extraordinary design talent of his father, Battista “Pinin” Farina, the celebrated Turin coachbuilder who played a leading role in the golden age of Italian coachbuilding, Sergio transformed the family business into an international enterprise, becoming one of the undisputed protagonists of twentieth-century automotive design.

His relationship with Ferrari represents one of the most prestigious chapters of his history. More than one hundred Ferrari cars were created at the Pininfarina Style Centre in Turin, authentic icons that helped define the image of the Prancing Horse around the world.

Among them are models destined to become legends, from the Ferrari F40 to the Ferrari 458 Italia, different expressions of the same principle: transforming function, technology and aerodynamic research into forms capable of inspiring emotion.

It is precisely this legacy that makes Sergio Pininfarina’s figure still relevant today. His cars do not belong solely to the history of industry: they have become works of design, symbols of an era and authentic collector’s items.
