It is said that, at a very young age, he was fascinated by the Studebaker Commander 1950, one of the most important cars of the early post-war period.
At that time, Studebaker cars (United States of America) were a point of reference for body style and engineering.
Bruno Sacco decided to study mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin, then applying himself to the prestigious Turin-based Ghia body shop and entering the world of car design.
In 1958, Sacco began his collaboration - lasting 40 years - with the Style Center of Daimler-Benz, which later became Mercedes-Benz.

The Italian designer created series cars, concept cars and experimental prototypes for the Stuttgart-based company, which marked its golden age. In 1979, the Mercedes Benz G-Class came to life from the pencil of Bruno Sacco, considered a timeless myth, capable of crossing all eras while maintaining its style intact. One of the most significant models was the Mercedes-Benz 190, created in 1982, a medium-class car with the advanced technological qualities and elegance of a high-end car. This car was produced in four versions, which introduced it to the Touring Car Championships; it competed with excellent results on the Nurburgring (Germany) and Donington Park (England) circuits. At the 1996 Turin Motor Show, the Stuttgart-based company presented the Mercedes-Benz R 170 SLK, that is, “a lightweight short-wheelbase sports car” in the medium/high range, with perfect proportions, created by Bruno Sacco's team.
