In a wood, a good detective stories writer would imagine finding the body of a crime, the signs of a mysterious crime. A "gothic novel" writer would set a scene of vampirism, but not the beautiful discovery (including tangles of cobwebs and perhaps some bat), of 81 vintage cars, of the most varied brands, Renault, Alfa Romeo, Cadillac, Lancia, Simca, Delage, Panhard, Lincoln, Packard, Oldmobile, Hotchkiss, Graham Paige, Vauxhall, Opel, Peugeot, Trabant, Volkswagen, Audi, Buick, Fiat, Talbot, Mercedes-Benz, even the chassis of a Ferrari GTO of doubtful origin; very marked by the weather, of course. Returned to their rank of specimens of historical value, INTRENCHERES'S AUCTION on 20-01-2019 has put them in auction. Not being able to solve the strange case for which they were all abandoned in a forest of the High Pyrenees many years ago, we note directly from the results of the French auction house, some hammer prices:
