This sports car still extraordinarily topical, like all beautiful and timeless things. Fine-tuned in the technical part of Gianni Lancia, Carlo, Virgilio and Vittorio Jano, in the bodywork it is in line with the aesthetics of the fifties/ sixties which, after the dark years of the war, opposes the austere and harsh pre- war forms with fluid and curvilinear, on which the gaze flows unhindered. Those who were able to admire it at the Turin and Geneva Motor Shows in 1955 immediately appreciated the undulating profile without interruptions, from the front to the fenders to the "tail" softened by the discreet presence of two " fins"( in American fashion at that time). A CINEMA CAR
The Aurelia B24  was the most loved sports car by italians and highly appreciated abroad especially in the convertible version of 1956. A total of 240 copies were produced, of which 181 with left- hand drive, signed S. With great acuity, the director Dino Risi grasped its symbolic value , as the technological expression of the euphoria for economic well- being, in the sense of  individual freedom that manifests itself in  speed; the luxury item that makes the difference in social relationships. In the film "IL SORPASSO" from 1962, an italian comedy of pink neorealism, with Vittorio Gassman and Jean  Louis Trintiggnant, the Aurelia B24  is the real protagonist, it has the same adolescent curves as the female protagonist, the very young Catherine Spaak. Despite the dramatic ending and the burning cynicism that pervades the whole film, the film, the director's masterpiece, launched the beautiful Italian car all over the world.
